When I was up in the Bay Area a couple weekends ago, Ptay, Stinky, Lila and I hit up Dim Sum King in Daly City. In addition to your standard-issue buns, dumplings and cakes, we ordered ja lerng, or as I like to call it, the dim sum torpedo, which consists of a savory chinese cruller donut with dried shrimp, wrapped in a slick, chewy rice noodle. Caution, these deep-fried warheads are explosively greasy. Make sure you have an entire pot of tea nearby to wash these suckers down!
