teapotkimchija jang myeonja jang myeonsliced oranges and checkHad a dentist appointment in Ktown today, and I couldn’t think of a better way to greet the hygienist than right after a quick, inhale of a lunch of ja jang myeon (noodles in a savory, splatterific black bean sauce with chunks of pork, onion and veggies) with a side of danmuji (raw sliced onions, doused in rice vinegar, then dipped in sticky ja jang sauce) and kimchi from Young King, a Korean-Chinese restaurant on Olympic.  I did my darndest to make the inside of my mouth resemble a motocross circuit, muddied with the darkest, stickiest sauce I could eat because, similar to the satisfaction Pands gets from seeing his car go from grimy to gleaming, I figure there’s nothing more satisfying to a hygienist than to get a really dirty mouth clean.
